Suspicious Boom Heard on Hangar Avenue

Selected calls from the Novato PD log books, Feb. 21-22

Feb. 21 

1:26 a.m. – A woman was arrested for driving under the influence after a commercial delivery truck driver reported being hit by her vehicle in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven in the 700 block of Redwood Boulevard.      

12:15 p.m. – A woman reported a vehicle doing doughnuts on San Marin High School property.  The sidewall of a building was muddy due to vehicles driving in the area.  Officers were unable to locate any damage to school property due to vehicles doing doughnuts.

1 p.m. – Multiple reports were taken about vehicles that were vandalized overnight by unknown suspects on Kelly Court.  Seven vehicles were keyed and egged. 

6:47 p.m. – A subject was arrested and booked for driving under the influence and speeding in the vicinity of De Long Avenue and Highway 101.

Feb. 22 

2:06 a.m. – Suspicious circumstances were reported in the 400 block of Hangar Avenue after a loud boom was heard.  The reporting party provided information about security cameras on commercial property possibly close to the source of the sound.  The area was checked extensively but the source of the sound could not be located. 

4:27 a.m. – A burglary was reported at Casa del Palmar in the 500 block of Alameda del Prado.  Unknown suspects smashed the rear bathroom window of the business.  No entry was made but damage was estimated at $200. 

7:36 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 700 block of Tamalpais Avenue.  Gang tagging was discovered on a vehicle. 

8:07 a.m. – Juveniles were reported spray-painting the windows of a large brown home in the vicinity of Center Road and Tamalpais Avenue.  Descriptions of juveniles were provided. 

8:21 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 400 block of Enfrente Road.  Gang tagging defaced approximately 100 yards of fence line. 

9:06 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported on Romar Court.  An apartment sign was tagged again over night. 

11:15 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported on Muroc Lake Drive.  The outside wall to a laundry room was found tagged. 

12:06 p.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1700 block of Novato Boulevard.  A bridge to the rear of Star Restaurant was found tagged.  Parks department to be notified. 

2:35 p.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the vicinity of Alameda del Prado and Dusel Drive.  An apartment building sign was vandalized with tagging. 

2:36 p.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the vicinity of Alameda del Prado and Posada del Sol.  A brick wall on the north side of the roadway was tagged earlier in the day. 

3:20 p.m. – A burglary was reported at Rolling Hills Club on San Andreas Drive.  A wallet and clothes were taken from a locker room.  A subject was apprehended and booked at the Marin County Jail. 

4:48 p.m. -- A subject was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail for driving under the influence in the 400 block of Ignacio Boulevard. 

6:07 p.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 500 block of Bolling Circle.  A door to garbage can storage was tagged with gang related taggings. 

7:38 p.m. – A resident at Homeward Bound was transported to a psychiatric unit after threatening to harm himself.  The reporting party stated the subject had been drinking and threatened to use a weapon on employees.  The subject had been making threats all day but did not have a weapon. 

8:12 p.m. – An elderly woman was reported disoriented and trying to get directions from employees at the Taco Bell on Seventh Street.  Officer(s) responded the welfare check request and found the woman was lost due to her age and was then transported home to Tamalpais Avenue. 

8:53 p.m. – An elderly man was found on the ground conscious and breathing in the Safeway parking lot on Nave Drive.  Officer(s) found a semi-intoxicated subject lying on the ground.  The subject was transported to Novato Community Hospital by medics.
