Arrested Suspect Linked to Over 15 Burglaries in Novato

A man arrested in Placer County on suspicion of burglary is tied to identifiable stolen property recovered during a search warrant on a Novato home connected to the case, police said.

A man arrested in Feburary in Placer County while fleeing a home during a residential burglary has been linked to approximately 15 residential burglaries in the city of Novato, according to a news release by the  Novato Police Department.

Jason Christopher Knight, a 34-year-old resident of Sonoma, was arrested in Placer County on February 25 while fleeing a home during a residential burglary, according to the release.

According to police, stolen property in Knight's possession was linked to several burglaries in the Placer County area.

Prior to Knight's arrest, Novato Police Department detectives developed information linking Knight to the burglaries in Novato. The investigation unit obtained a $525,000 warrant for Knight's arrest.

On March 2, a search warrant was served at a location in Novato and multiple items of identifiable stolen property were recovered, according to police.

Knight was booked into the Placer County Jail on suspicion of possessing stolen property, burglary and several Sonoma County warrants.

Further investigation is continuing into the location of additional stolen property.
