Novato man, 63, faces two felony charges.

A traffic-stop arrest Saturday night led to the arrest of a 63-year-old Novato man on probation and a stash of drugs, Novato police said Monday.

Novato Response Team officers pulled over the man near the intersection of De Long and Reichert avenues and found he was on active probation with a search clause, acting Lt. Jennifer Welch said. During the search, officers found suspected methamphetamine packaged for sale, suspected heroin and needles, she said.

Stephen Curtis Gardner was arrested at 10:13 p.m. and booked at 12:10 a.m. Sunday. He faces two felony counts of drug possession plus two misdemeanors. His bail was set at $20,000.
