Small Earthquake Jolts Inverness in West Marin

Temblor registers a preliminary magnitude of 2.3 - no damage has been reported.

A small earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.3 struck Sunday morning in west Marin County near Inverness, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake struck at 11:27 a.m. and had a depth of three miles, according to the USGS.

The epicenter was about 6 miles west northwest of Inverness and about 20 mile west of Novato.
