Gusts expected to reach 60 mph Saturday night.

Winds were expected to whip up to 60 mph in the highest elevations of Marin County over Saturday night and Sunday morning, forecasters said, and first-responders were making preparations for possible downed trees and power outages.

“We’re getting geared up. We’re ready,” said Novato firefighter David Bodine.

Rain was expected Saturday with highs in the lower 50s and south winds from 15 to 20 mph. There was a chance of thunderstorms that might produce small hail, according to the National Weather Service.
