Search for Missing Woman Near Bolinas Ends With Discovery of Her Body

Jade Dashiell, 41, was last seen dropping off her children at school Tuesday morning.

The Coroner Division of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Thursday that a deceased individual found in the Bolinas area is Jade Dashiell, 41, a Santa Rosa woman reported missing Tuesday.

The cause of death was not released, but foul play is not suspected, officials said.

Dashiell was last seen dropping off her children at school Tuesday morning, Santa Rosa police Sgt. David Linscomb said. She was reported missing around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Her white GMC Yukon was found at the Palomarin trailhead near Bolinas around 5 p.m. Tuesday, said John Dell'Osso, a spokesman for the Point Reyes National Seashore.

Her body was located after a search of the area, and she was identified through fingerprint analysis, authorities said.

Santa Rosa police said Dashiell was possibly despondent over recent life events and a gun was missing from her home, Linscomb said.

An investigation by the Coroner Division of the Sheriff’s Office is underway into the circumstances of Dashiell’s death.

A forensic examination is scheduled and the cause of death is pending the completion of the forensic examination, toxicology studies and further investigation, officials said.

The Coroner Division said it does not suspect foul play, but will continue to explore all avenues as the investigation moves forward.
