Resident Assaulted, Robbed Tuesday Evening

A 65-year-old man was assaulted and robbed outside his home Tuesday by a group of young men who pointed a weapon at him, then stole numerous personal items, according to Novato police.

The armed robbery occurred around 8:30pm on Tahoe Circle, a quiet residential street off South Novato Boulevard and near Highway 101. The assailants wore dark clothing and appeared to be around 20 years old, police said.

Novato Police canine units responded to the scene, but could not locate the suspects who fled the area. However, they put out information to surrounding agencies and the fleeing car was spotted by San Rafael police. Two young men were arrested and charged with armed robbery.
