Recognize This Man? $1,000 Being Offered for ID of Novato Murder 'Person of Interest'

Police are asking the public for information about the person and have released a flier with a sketch of his face.

Police have released a sketch of a person of interest in the homicide of Jimmy Lucero Tejada whose body was found Saturday by a hiker near Loma Verde Open Space Preserve in Novato.

 Police are asking the public for information about the person and have released a flier with a sketch of his face. A $1,000 reward is being offered for a positive identification of the subject.

 The subject is possibly from a Central American country, police said.

 A hiker found Tejada in an open space area near Calle Arboleda around 5:40 p.m. on Saturday a short distance from the road, police said.

 Police said officers arrived on the scene, found Tejada's body and determined that he had been murdered.

 The Marin County coroner responded to the scene to investigate the death.

 Novato police detectives are actively investigating the killing and following a number of potential leads.

 Police said there is no apparent threat to the community at this time. Anyone with information is urged to call the Novato Police Department at (415) 899-7032.
