Pot Plants Found Inside Home, but It's All on the Up-and-Up

The following information from Aug. 31-Sept. 2 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The Headliner:

9:33 a.m., Aug. 31 — Someone reported more than 15 marijuana plants more than 4 feet tall at a Novato home. The occupants provided documentation that allows them to cultivate up to six mature plants and 99 plants overall.

8:34 a.m. — A resident of Yukon Place said his vehicle has been broken into the past two nights.

9:33 a.m. — Someone reported more than 15 marijuana plants more than 4 feet tall at a Novato home. The occupants provided documentation that allows them to cultivate up to six mature plants and 99 plants overall.

11:25 a.m. — Someone inside a business in the 700 block of Grant Avenue said a man challenged him to a fight. Advice was given.

2:22 p.m. — Two "aggressive" Doberman pinschers escaped from their yard on Sunny Cove Drive. The owner was contacted and the Marin Humane Society was advised.

2:38 p.m. — A rifle was confiscated during an arrested for suspected DUI in the 1800 block of Virginia Avenue.

3:26 p.m. — A teen was seen on top of a bus shelter near the corner of South Novato and Rowland boulevards. The reporting party said it appeared the teen was going to jump into the backyard of a nearby residence. Officers found that the teen was retrieving his cell phone from the top of the bus shelter.

8:13 p.m. — A group of teens was seen shining flashlights into parked cars on Midway Court. Officers were unable to locate the group.

10:37 p.m. — A teenage girl who has threatened to slit her wrists in the past just broke up with a boyfriend and is feared despondent by the caller. The girl was found in the San Marin area, evaluated, placed on a psychiatric hold and taken to a nearby hospital.

Sept. 1

6:20 a.m. — Someone saw a man stumble out of some bushes on Tamalpais Avenue saying that someone was after him. The man said he was being followed by his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend.

7:41 a.m. — Someone shattered the front window of a business in the 5800 block of Nave Drive.

9:15 a.m. — A gray compacted car with smashed-out windows was found near the junction of Monte Vista and Wilson avenues. Officers found that the owner has been in the Solano County Jail for the past five weeks. The vehicle was deemed abandoned and towed.

11:58 a.m. — A noninjury crash was reported at the corner of Simmons Lane and San Marin Drive.

12:46 p.m. — The window of a black Lexus was smashed in the 300 block of Norman Drive and a computer, clothes and other items were taken.

2:18 p.m. — Some on Sun Lane reported a boy of about 12 or 13 driving up and down the street in a golf cart.

4:30 p.m. — A man on Victor Court reported that he was hit by his partner and his car keys were taken away from him as the other person left in his vehicle.

6:31 p.m. — A white and gray male pitbull with a collar and tags was seen running through the San Marin neighborhood. The caller said it was not aggressive. The Human Society was alerted.

6:31 p.m. — A resident of Scottsdale Way said his gray Nissan was reported stolen from the corner of Redwood and Rowland boulevards.

7:29 p.m. — An agitated resident of an assisted care facility on Hill Road was resisting orderlies in the middle of the road. Officers found that the man left in his wheelchair because he did not get his cheeseburger for dinner at a specific time. Advice was given to the man and the staff.

8:46 p.m. — A resident of Del Marin Avenue reported two fraudulent checks passed worth $979 from his account.

Sept. 2

1:59 p.m. — Someone reported fireworks going off on Knight Court.

2 p.m. — A boat trailer was stolen from a parking lot at 150 Alameda del Prado.

4:33 p.m. — A man reported being struck in the side of the head with a bottle at a residence on Fairway Drive. No charges were pursued.

5:21 p.m. — Witnesses called to say they saw a teen spray-painting a wall on school property at 720 Diablo Avenue. The graffiti does not appear to be gang-related.

5:54 p.m. — A two-vehicle noninjury crash was reported in the 7100 block of Redwood Boulevard. One driver rear-ended another driver. Minor damage to both vehicles.

8:02 p.m. — A person was booked for furnishing alcohol to a minor in the 7400 block of Redwood Boulevard.

8:31 p.m. — Someone reported a man striking a woman in the face with a bottle in the 500 block of Alameda del Prado. The woman was treated for a laceration to the right arm and abrasion on her face. Case taken.

11:12 p.m. — A group of juveniles was reported to be knocking over garbage cans and placing them in the street. One suspect admitted to pushing over trash cans and picked up the trash.
