Police Search for Westamerica Bank Robber

The suspect fled on foot westbound on Grant Avenue.

Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a in downtown this morning, according to authorities.

At approximately 10:26 a.m. Saturday, a man entered the bank, located on the corner of Grant Avenue and Redwood Boulevard, and requested an undisclosed amount of cash from the teller. After receiving the money, the man left on foot, heading westbound on Grant Avenue.

A few people were in the bank, which opened at 10 a.m., and no weapon was used, according to Lt. Keith Heiden.

FBI officials recently pulled up to the bank, which is now closed. Customers are able to use the ATM, but are not allowed inside.

The suspect was a described as a white male around 6 feet tall.

This is the latest in a slew of robberies in the area. On June 1, a man robbed the Wells Fargo Bank on Hamilton, and another robbery took place on March 28 in Ignacio.
