Police Arrest Two Men After Assault

Two people injured during fight in the 1000 block of Ignacio Boulevard Friday. An investigation is ongoing

Novato police have arrested two men they say severely beat two people with a tire iron or a similar object late Friday night.

Officers responded to a report of a fight in the 1400 block of Ignacio Boulevard at about 11 p.m. and found one victim with major head injuries, including lacerations to the head. A second young man suffered minor head injuries.

Two suspects fled the scene after the assault, but were arrested Sunday night. The have been identified as 22-year-old Robert Knight and a 17-year-old boy, both from Novato.

According to witnesses, the two kicked, punched and hit the victims with an improvised weapon, possibly a tire iron or similar object during the assault. Both Knight and the juvenile were arrested and booked into Marin County Jail and Marin County Juvenile hall.

Novato Police are continuing to investigate the incident and don't know if it's gang-related.
