Police Dog Discovers Drugs in Car Parked at Park-and-Ride Lot
Three people face charges after Ingo sniffs out marijuana and cocaine.
Three people found sleeping in a car were arrested early Friday morning on drug-related charges thanks to the stellar snout of a police dog, Novato police said.
Cpt. Kevin Naugle contacted three people inside a vehicle at the Armstrong Drive park-and-ride lot, just off Atherton Avenue, at 12:53 a.m. According to Sgt. Nick Frey, Naugle retrieved his narcotics-trained dog, Ingo, from his police cruiser and the dog detected drugs inside the suspect vehicle.
A search revealed several bags of suspected cocaine and marijuana, Frey said.
