Police Arrest Man Accused of Beating Victim at Gas Station

Officers responded to reports of a physical altercation at the Miwok Shell station where a man hit a Petaluma resident with a small baseball bat.

Novato police arrested a man accused of hitting Petaluma resident with a small baseball bat during a fight at a gas station near Redwood Boulevard Saturday afternoon, according to Sgt. Eric Riddell.

Officers responded to reports of a physical altercation at the Miwok Shell station at 7473 Redwood Blvd. at 1:56 p.m. They found the victim, who was
bleeding about the head, Riddell said.

The victim told police he was attacked by an unknown subject, who hit him with a small baseball bat. He said the attack was unprovoked, according to Riddell.

Police located a suspect who matched a witness' description of the attacker in the area. After reviewing video of the attack, officer identified 19-year-old Elfego Aguilar as the suspect.

Aguilar was booked in Marin County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a billy club and gang enhancement.
