Police: Three Arrested in Novato Gang-Related Assault

Police say a man was attacked by a group of gang members in Novato.

A man, woman and teenager were arrested in Novato this weekend for their alleged involvement in a gang-related assault, Novato police said Tuesday.

At about 7 p.m. Sunday, a group of people assaulted a man in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard, according to police.

"The victim was eventually able to flee from the group," Detective Sergeant Michael Howard said in a news release, adding that one of the suspects then tried to hit the victim as he ran from the area.

Then, the man called police-- and was apparently attacked again, Howard said.

"Following contact with NPD, the victim was again assaulted by several subjects resulting in injuries requiring medical care," he said.

Three suspects were later contacted and arrested in connection with the first assault, which police are considering gang-related.

Tatiana Jenkins, 24, of Antioch, was arrested and booked on suspicion of battery, conspiracy, participating in a criminal street gang, criminal street gang enhancement and probation violation, police reported.

Christopher Cooke, 19, of Novato, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of conspiracy, participating in a criminal street gang and criminal street gang enhancement, according to police.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, participating in a criminal street gang and criminal street gang enhancement.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
