Novato Police Say Man On Drugs Also Had Dagger

Kenneth John Chiarenza, 41, was arrested this weekend on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and possession of a concealed dagger.

Police said a Novato man was arrested Sunday night after he was walking around under the influence of drugs and in possession of a dagger.

Kenneth John Chiarenza, 41, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and possession of a concealed dagger.

Police said Chiarenza was walking on Grant Avenue around 11:20 p.m. when an officer stopped him and attempted evaluate him for being under the influence of drugs.

Police said Chiarenza fled on food and tried to get rid of a fixed-blade knife and a methamphetamine pipe.

Police said officers detained Chiarenza, recovered the discarded items and found an Oxycontin pill in his possession.
