Novato Police Catch Suspected Cell Phone Thief

The man allegedly forcibly stole a cellphone from a 23-year-old Novato woman after she exited a store holding the phone in her hands, according to police.

A man was arrested for taking a woman's cellphone and fleeing with the device at a shopping center in Novato on Friday morning, according to police.

Officers responded around 10:30 a.m. to a report of a strong-arm robbery at Novato Fair Shopping Center, located at 920 Diablo Ave., police said.

The man allegedly forcibly stole a cellphone from a 23-year-old Novato woman after she exited a store holding the phone in her hands, according to police.

Officers collected information and identified the suspect as 23-year-old Bernard Davis, of Novato.

He was later found and arrested, police said. He was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of robbery and possession of stolen property.
