Novato PD Receives National Award for Traffic Safety
Novato police receive first place for pedestrian and bicycle safety.
The Novato Police Department was awarded first place honors for Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety by the California Office of Traffic Safety and the California Highway Patrol.
The award was for the department's participation in the California Law Enforcement Challenge to promote and enhance traffic safety in the community and presented on Thursday.
Sergeant Oliver Collins was also individually recognized for traffic safety efforts for the Novato PD.

“This is a very prestigious nationwide award that we are very proud of,” said Sergeant Jennifer Welch in a press statement.
“Only two other cities in California received a national award through the International Association of Chiefs of Police,” she added.
