Novato PD: Man Arrested For Waving Rifle at Passing Vehicles, People

By Bay City News Service:

Novato police arrested a man who allegedly waved a rifle at people and vehicles in a parking lot in Novato on Wednesday night.

Ronald Dennis, 60, of Novato, was allegedly carelessly waving a .30-06 rifle with a laser sight at vehicles and people near Cherry Street around 9:20 p.m., police Lt. Jennifer Welch said.

Police responded and contacted Dennis, then arrested him on suspicion of brandishing a firearm in public and possession of narcotics, Welch said.

He was booked into Marin County Jail to prevent the likelihood of the incident happening again if Dennis was cited and released, Welch said.
