Novato Man Arrested on Suspicion of Mail Theft

Resident saw 56-year-old Novato resident Sam Cutrufelli taking mail from a Salvatore Drive mailbox.

A Novato man was arrested last week on suspicion of taking mail from a Salvatore Drive mailbox, police said Sunday.

A resident confronted Sam Cutrufelli, 56, after he took outgoing mail from a mailbox around 1:08 p.m. on Sept. 4, according to the Novato Police.

After the victim took the mail back from Cutrufelli, he fled on foot. The victim called the police, who found Cutrufelli in the 300 block of Enfrente Road.

Cutrufelli was arrested on suspicion of mail theft and for an outstanding warrant from Sonoma County. He was booked into the Marin County Jail.
