Novato Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant in DUI Op

The saturation patrol was funded by the Office of Traffic Safety.

A Novato man stopped during a DUI saturation patrol was arrested over the weekend on an outstanding warrant, police said.

Chandler Colquitt, 20, was among 23 motorists police made contact with during a Selective Traffic Enforcement Safety Program (STEP). The operation involved four officers on an eight-hour patrol (from 6 p.m. on Friday to 2 a.m. on Saturday).

Police made 14 traffic stops, issued four citations, discovered one unlicensed driver and had a vehicle towed.

Police held four field sobriety tests during the operation. They found two unlicensed drivers, two motorists driving on suspended licenses, ordered one vehicle towed and issued 11 citations.

The ongoing program is funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.
