Novato Man Arrested on Charges of Selling, Transporting Drugs

Methamphetamine, heroine and cocaine were found inside the car a 63-year-old Novato resident was driving on Southbound Highway 101.

 

A Novato man was arrested Friday night on charges of selling drugs after 8 grams of methamphetamine and other narcotics were found in his car. 

Stephen Curtis Gardner, 63, was pulled over on Southbound Highway 101 at the Novato Blvd. off-ramp around 11 p.m. for driving at excessive speeds, according to Marin County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Steve Delao.

After Gardner had pulled the vehicle over, the deputy noticed drugs sitting in “plain view” in the car inside cigarette packs, Delao said.

In the car were 8 grams of methamphetamine and around 1 gram of cocaine and roughly 1 gram of heroine.

Gardner, who is retired, was arrested on six charges that included transporting or selling drugs and possession or sale of a controlled substance.

He was booked into Marin County Jail in lieu of $10,000.
