Novato Man Arrested Following Stabbing on Leafwood Drive
Suspect found to be carrying a weapon and resisted arrest, police say.
A 27-year-old Novato man was arrested early Monday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon following a stabbing on Leafwood Drive, police said.
Jose Eladio May Cab, who gave his occupation as a cook, was arrested by shortly after a call at 2:35 a.m. in the 1300 block of Leafwood, a street between and in the southern part of the city, according to a Novato police release.
A man told police he was involved in an altercation with an acquaintance and was stabbed. Responding officers found that the man’s injuries were not life-threatening, and he was treated and released from the scene, police said.

The suspect was tracked down a short time later and resisted arrest, although no officers were injured, police said. Officers found the suspect to be carrying a weapon thought to be used in the stabbing, the report said.
May Cab was booked at Marin County Jail at 5 a.m. and faces a possible felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. He also is being held on a felony investigation into his immigration status. His bail was set at $50,000.
