Novato Man Accused of Raping Unconscious Woman

Novato police have arrested a man on suspicion of raping a passed out woman at his residence.

Robert Alan McPeek, 26, allegedly raped and sodomized the woman on June 6, at his residence in the 1000 block of Sixth Street around 2:30 a.m. Friday, police Sgt. Michael Howard said.

"The victim became intoxicated to the point of unconsciousness while at the suspect’s residence," Howard said in a press statement.  "The victim was then allegedly raped by the suspect."

The incident was then interrupted— authorities didn't say how— and the victim left the scene, Howard said.

Police conducted a follow-up investigation and arrested McPeek at 6:30 p.m. Monday, according to the Marin County Jail booking log.

McPeek was booked into jail on suspicion of rape and sodomy of an unconscious victim. He is being held under $100,000 bail.

Two lessons: 1. Do not drink beyond your ability to defend yourself. 2. Start executing more rapists and these crimes will be less common. Good job NPD!

More good advise? Dont rush to judgement until all of the facts come out. Just because he was accused, doesnt mean he is guilty. Im not defending rape in any manner, but, articles like this immediately convict people without due process.

I'm not defending this guy either, but why does his name get published and not his accusers? This guys reputation is damaged in the court of public opinion by a simple statement from an anonymous victim who will keep her reputation intact, when the real crime was drinking with someone you don't know. 2:30 AM sounds like a bar closing pickup, and everyone knows the chicks get prettier at closing time. Smarten up, honey. Guys go to bars to pick up chicks, and going home with one and drinking until you pass out is like pulling down your pants yourself.

Since the era of 'No means no! ', I have often wondered how many of us were conceived when Mommy and/or Daddy were at least to to some degree inebriated.
