Novato Man Accused of Raping Unconscious Woman

Novato police have arrested a man on suspicion of raping a passed out woman at his residence.

Robert Alan McPeek, 26, allegedly raped and sodomized the woman on June 6, at his residence in the 1000 block of Sixth Street around 2:30 a.m. Friday, police Sgt. Michael Howard said.

"The victim became intoxicated to the point of unconsciousness while at the suspect’s residence," Howard said in a press statement.  "The victim was then allegedly raped by the suspect."

The incident was then interrupted— authorities didn't say how— and the victim left the scene, Howard said.

Police conducted a follow-up investigation and arrested McPeek at 6:30 p.m. Monday, according to the Marin County Jail booking log.

McPeek was booked into jail on suspicion of rape and sodomy of an unconscious victim. He is being held under $100,000 bail.
