Novato Man, 62, Arrested on Suspicion of Possessing Stolen Property
Suspect was allegedly in possession of metal removed from SMART train tracks, police say.
A 62-year-old Novato man was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property earlier this month, police said.
Novato police officers responding to a report of a suspicious person near the Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit tracks on Saturday made contact with Eli Blackeagle, who matched the description of the suspicious person, police said.
Blackeagle was found to be in possession of metal lifted from the SMART tracks, police said. Further investigation led to the discovery of tools commonly used by burglars,

Blackeagle was on probation at the time of his arrest. He was booked into Marin County Jail.
