Mother, Daughter Report Being Rammed by Truck in Possible Gang Incident

The following information from June 25-26 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

4:01 p.m. , June 26— A woman and her mother reported being rammed by a black truck while they were in their van in the 600 block of Novato Boulevard. A second suspect vehicle was described as a red Honda four-door. Two Hispanic male teens were seen and one reportedly threw a rock and smashed the woman’s drivers-side window. Case was taken for a gang-related assault with a deadly weapon.

12:01 a.m. — A woman on Carolyn Way was deemed a danger to herself and others after texting a friend that she was going to slit her wrists and was “done with living.” The woman was taken to Kaiser hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

1:05 a.m. — A woman on Western Drive called police for help because she had kicked her boyfriend out of the house earlier for using drugs and he has returned with a friend wanting to get property.

6:25 a.m — A report of a 35-year-old man passed out on the ground in the 1000 block of Sunset Parkway is found to have no merit; he was stretching to get ready for a basketball game.

10:46 a.m. — An 84-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries when a truck backed up and struck her at 707 Grant Ave. She was transported to Novato Community Hospital.

12:53 p.m. — A 62-year-old man with a history of seizures was pronounced missing since June 23 by a reporting party on Marion Avenue. Case was solved when the man was identified during a traffic stop in Richmond.

1:35 p.m. — A wallet and watch were reported stolen from a black Audi parked near Binford Road and Atherton Avenue. A jogger who went running on Rush Creek had left a key sitting on a right rear tire.

2:37 p.m. — A witness said a landscape company employee was seen dumping green scraps on private property in the 100 block of Marin Valley Drive.

4:47 p.m. — An employee of a business in the 2000 block of Novato Boulevard said two boys came into his shop and told him to “go back to his country.” The statements were not deemed to be threatening in nature.

5:38 p.m. — Officers responded to a family disturbance in the 300 block of San Luis Way after a woman said her brother was screaming at her mother.

7:46 p.m. — A dog was struck by a car in the 1600 block of Merritt Drive. The car, a silver or gray Toyota, left the scene heading east on Sunset Parkway. The dog and owner were not found at the scene; the driver was located and had no knowledge of a collision.

7:53 p.m. — A man called to say another man was caught taking a pizza from a business in the 700 block of De Long Avenue. The suspect was cited and released.

8:36 p.m. — A report of a gunshot was made in to the area of Parkwood Drive and Sunset Parkway. Neighbors contacted said juveniles were using fireworks, and evidence of explosions was found.

10:03 p.m. — An electrical transformer blew out at the intersection of Cambridge Street and Rowland Boulevard.

10:26 p.m. — A complaint that two men refused to pay a cab fare in the 1400 block of Hamilton Parkway was resolved when officers convinced them to do it.

11:09 p.m. — A man at Wyndover Apartments said his roommate broke a lock and went into his room. Both parties had been given notice of eviction five days earlier.

June 26

12:03 a.m. — A report was made of fireworks going off in the area of Washington Street and Rowland Boulevard. No signs of fireworks were found.

12:51 a.m. — Graffiti was reported in the 2000 block of Novato Boulevard.

1:21 a.m. — A family argument over money was broken up in the 1100 block of Elm Drive.

2:10 a.m. — A loud bang was reported in the 800 block of Diablo Avenue. No signs of fireworks were found.

2:32 a.m. — A woman reported that she was talking on the phone with a friend who said she as being held hostage by her ex-boyfriend, who had a restraining order against him. Nobody was found at the residence on Caddy Court.

6:49 a.m. — A woman was reported to be yelling at customers in the Safeway store in the 900 block of Diablo Avenue. The woman was contacted and removed from the store.

9:37 a.m. — Tagging was reported inside a park restroom in the 600 block of Manuel Drive.

10:20 a.m. — Someone reported a teenage boy carrying a firearm walking on a path between a house and a park off Taft Court. The subject was not found.

12:21 p.m. — A 40-year-old woman driving a black Toyota Celica struck a parked hite Acura in the 8100 block of Redwood Boulevard. The driver was slumped behind the wheel. She was found to be driving under the influence.

1:10 p.m. — An argument was reported in the parking lot of 2025 Novato Boulevard over the quality of a worker’s tile job.

3:40 p.m. — Report of the sound of an accident at Novato Boulevard and Tamalpais Avenue. Area is checked an evidence of a crash is found in form of brown, green and clear glass in the roadway.

4:43 p.m. — A woman in her 30s was seen shoplifing a bottle of shampoo at a business in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard. Officers contacted the woman, who admitted to shoplifting. Store management refused to prosecute, and the woman was served a trespass notice.

5:07 p.m. — A minor vehicle accident was reported at Enfrente Road and Ignacio Boulevard. Four vehicles were involved with parties complaining of pain only.

6:02 p.m. — Two people were cited and released after a shoplifting report at a business at 790 De Long Ave.

8:42 p.m. — Someone reported a suspected drunken driver parked near Whole Foods on De Long Avenue. A woman in a Volkswagen sedan was contacted and said she was just tired after walking around San Francisco with her children all day.

9:20 p.m. — A man reported that he could hear a verbal dispute from his residence in the 400 block of Alameda del Prado. A suspect was arrested and booked for domestic violence.

9:33 p.m. — A warrant arrest was made in the 20 block of Los Cedros Drive.

9:51 p.m. — A security officer reported that the window of a white Ford pickup was smashed in the 800 block of Diablo Avenue. Nothing appeared to be missing from the truck.

10:20 p.m. — A man was seen taking a screen off a house’s window and crawling inside. Police contacted the homeowner and found that he had lost his key.

11:39 p.m. — Two men were in a dispute in the 100 block of Oliva Court. One man inside a residence and is scared; he wants to leave to go home but the other man is outside. The argument was found to be over visitation and custody of a newborn baby, and both men believe they are the father.
