Man's Home Burglarized While He was Under Arrest

Selected calls from the log books of Novato PD, Feb. 14-15

Feb. 14 

3:03 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1300 block of Grant Avenue.  

2:13 p.m. – A burglary and a case of fraud was reported at a business in the 900 block of Diablo Avenue.

4:47 p.m. – A vehicle was tampered with on Los Alondras Court.  Unknown suspect(s) entered the cab of the victim’s vehicle, unlocked the engine compartment and took the battery. 

7:54 p.m. – A shoplifter was reported in custody at the Rite Aid store on Diablo Avenue.  Rite Aid security did not want to press charges for theft of two packs of gums but wanted to confirm the identity of subject and have him advised not to return to the store.

9:06 p.m. – A burglary was reported on Oak Crest Court.  Unknown suspect(s) broke into the victim’s storage unit by cutting a lock.  Tools were stolen. 

10:07 p.m. – A burglary was reported in the 1500 block of Center Road.  The reporting party states that his stereo equipment was taken while he was under arrest between Feb. 11 and Feb. 14. 

Feb. 15 

10:08 a.m. – A woman requested an Emergency Protective Order (EPO) against her boyfriend in the 1900 block of Center Road.  The subject was arrested for a criminal threat and for possession of marijuana and booked into Marin County Jail.  An EPO was issued. 

1:29 p.m. – A hit and run of a parked unoccupied vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Creekside Professional Center in the 1700 block of Novato Boulevard.  

8:21 p.m. – A robbery was reported at an ATM at Wells Fargo Bank on Grant Avenue.  The reporting party was robbed by a tall black male wearing a white shirt and dark pants.  A juvenile was arrested for robbery and booked into juvenile hall. 

9:06 p.m. – A restaurant employee in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard reported suspicious circumstances after he received an order for over $100 for delivery.  Upon arrival at the address the female resident denied making an order and stated that she had five different restaurants attempt to make deliveries to her address. 

10:21 p.m. – An unwanted subject was reported at a home in the 1900 block of Center Road.  The reporting party says her husband who does not live at the residence is in the bedroom and she is afraid of him.  It was determined that the woman has dementia or Alzheimer’s and at times does not recognize her husband.  They have been married for 54 years.  The husband has never lived elsewhere.  When officers questioned her she did not recall calling the police for assistance.
