Man Picked Up on Warrant Stemming from June Assault

David Oliver Guimont was arrested in San Francisco and faces a bail of $250,000.

A Novato man accused of assaulting several people in June was detained in San Francisco and booked at Marin County Jail on Tuesday, according to Novato police.

David Oliver Guimont, 44, faces a bail of $250,000 stemming from an incident on Spinosa Way on June 17 involving three other people, said Novato police Lt. Keith Heiden.

During a gathering at a home, a person suffered a medical emergency and a 17-year-old girl — the daughter of Guimont's girlfriend — attempted to call 911 on his behalf. Guimont is accused of pushing the girl as she tried to make the call and assaulting a 20-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man who tried to intervene.

The person who had the medical emergency later was found to be under the influence of LSD at the time, Heiden said.

Guimont did not show at a subsequent court date, and a warrant was issued in September for his arrest.
