Man Out $1,600 After Picking Up Woman at Bar
The following information from Oct. 1-2 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.
The Headliner:
4:53 a.m., Oct. 1 — A man staying in a motel room in the 7600 block of Redwood Boulevard says $1,600 is missing from his wallet. He suspects a woman he met at a bar earlier in the evening who came back to his room. The theft took place while he was sleeping, he said. The woman was white, about 52 years old, wearing a pink T-shirt and jeans. A theft report was taken.

8:20 a.m. — A man was taking video of traffic at Lynwood School and was reported as an unwanted subject. The man said he was a neighbor upset with the traffic in the area. He was told to stay off campus.
9:11 a.m. — A small fire off northbound Highway 101 near Nave Drive was suspected as arson. Two suspects were contacted and cited.

10:12 a.m. — A 1985 Toyota 4Runner was stolen from Modoc Place during the night. All keys were accounted for and no suspect information was obtained.
12:02 p.m. — A woman said her ex tried to run down her and their infant child with his vehicle on Ignacio Boulevard. The incident took place during a child custody exchange.
1:21 p.m. — Parents with an infant and young child were aggressively panhandling in front of a business in the 700 block of De Long Avenue. Officers found them to be recent immigrants. The call came in two minutes after a similar call at the Safeway store on Diablo Avenue.
4:30 p.m. — Two rings worth $8,000 were reported stolen from a residence on Canyon Road.
8:54 p.m. — A woman on Bridle Path Lane said a roommate was evicted but has refused to give the keys back, and she is scared for her safety. The roommate was contacted and threatened to take a dog to the Marin Humane Society and file false allegations of bites if he doesn't receive his deposit back.
Oct. 2
2:32 a.m. — A motion detector was activated at the El Palmar restaurant on Alameda del Prado. The building appears secure and there are no signs of forced entry. Click here for a related item about this incident.
3:25 a.m. — A woman admitted to stealing pumpkins from a display at the Safeway store on Nave Drive. She was cited for theft and released.
8:30 a.m. — A person who was seen dumping four or five bags of household trash into a large bin at Slade Park said he wouldn't do it anymore.
8:31 a.m. — A contractor said gardening tools were stolen from a locked shed at an apartment complex in the 400 block of Alameda del Prado. Estimated value of the loss is $800.
10:36 a.m. — A resident of Salvatore Drive said she is being harassed by the former boyfriend of her deceased daughter. Officer determined no crime was committed and advice was given.
11:14 a.m. — A man called from a pay phone outside the Lucky store to say he's been drinking for a long time and now he's too drunk. The man was detained and transported to a hospital.
2:11 p.m. — A eighth-grade student at Sinaloa Middle School was cited for possession of marijuana.
2:55 p.m. — A student at San Jose Middle School was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold after making suicidal threats to a youth adviser.
9:16 p.m. — A teenager on a bus in Ignacio was accused of being highly intoxicated and has spit twice on the reporting party. The teen was booked and found to be in violation of probation.
9:46 p.m. — A motion detector was activated at the El Palmar restaurant on Alameda del Prado. The building appears secure and there are no signs of forced entry. Click here for a related item about this incident.
10:29 p.m. — A burglary was reported at a tobacco store in the 900 block of Diablo Avenue. Glass was broken and motion detectors were activated.
