Man Killed in Campground Shooting Near Tomales Bay

Deputies responded Thursday to a report of a shooting at Lawson's Landing, a campground area near Dillon Beach.

A man was killed Thursday morning at a Marin County campground near Tomales Bay, a sheriff's lieutenant said. 

Deputies responded to a report of a shooting at Lawson's Landing, a campground area near Dillon Beach, at about 2:30 a.m., Lt. Jamie Scardina said. 

When deputies arrived, they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Scardina said. The man succumbed to his injuries, he said. 

Scardina said two people have been detained for questioning, but no arrests were made as of 5:45 a.m. Both people taken in for questioning knew the victim, according to Scardina. 

The shooting remains under investigation.
