Man Connected to Stalking Case Now Jailed on Suspicion of Forgery, Battery

Paulo Espiritu Alamillo was arrested in San Mateo County a few days ago and has a court date in Marin.

A Novato man arrested on possible stalking charges in August is back in jail after a bench warrant arrest in San Mateo County, sources said.

Paulo Espiritu Alamillo, 34, was arrested Nov. 30 in San Mateo County on an undetermined minor offense and transferred to the custody of Marin County sheriff’s deputies once five warrants were discovered for his arrest in Marin, said Chuck Cacciatore, an assistant district attorney in Marin.

Alamillo faces new felony counts of forgery and preventing or dissuading a witness or victim from prosecution, according to the Marin County Jail booking log.

Citing a court documents, Cacciatore said Alamillo was accused of forging checks from his ex-wife’s account totaling $1,400 between July 6 and July 30 of this year. Alamillo admitted to the crime, and the ex-wife said he paid back $500.

Another warrant for Alamillo’s arrest was filed in October for a charge of battery on a cohabitant or spouse that dates to an August incident in Novato. Alamillo was arrested by Novato police after a woman said she was afraid of Alamillo and drove to the police station. Alamillo followed her and was arrested at the station on suspicion of felony stalking and misdemeanor battery.
