Man Breaking Into House Was Homeowner Who Locked Keys Inside

The following information from Feb. 18-19 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The Headliner:

3:29 a.m., Feb. 18 – A man was observed entering a residence on Tahoe Circle via an open upstairs window and then coming downstairs to let another man in through the front door. Responding officers found that the resident had locked his keys inside the home.

9:25 a.m. – A black 1998 Honda Civic was stolen from the 100 block of Posada Del Sol sometime overnight.

9:27 a.m. – A camcorder was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Posada Del Sol overnight.

1:52 p.m. – A white van parked near Simmons Lane and San Marin Drive was broken into and property was stolen.

7:06 p.m. – A green 1997 Nissan 200X was stolen while parked at the movie theater on Rowland Way.

11:52p.m. – A silver Ford Ranger parked on Marin Valley Drive was broken into and stereo items were stolen.

Feb. 19

4:22 a.m. – A resident of Leslie Court heard a noise outside and, upon investigating, found that his backyard fence had sustained major damage and is down. For a full story on this incident, click here.

10:50 a.m. – A gray Toyota Corolla parked in the lot in the 800 block of Diablo Avenue was broken into overnight.  A laptop and wallet were stolen.

11:43 a.m. – The science lab at Sinaloa Middle School was broken into sometime over the weekend, and a locked chemical container in a storage room was damaged.

4:53 p.m. – A customer at the Shell gas station at De Long Avenue and Redwood Boulevard found two leather jackets, wallets and other items on the property.  All of the phone numbers found among the items were disconnected, so the items were turned over to police.

6:30 p.m. – A man panhandling in front of the Subway sandwich store at San Marin Plaza was arrested for an outstanding Marin County warrant.
