Man Arrested in Credit Card Fraud Case

Stepfather's card was used for numerous purchases around town, police said.

A 48-year-old Novato man faces fraud and elder abuse charges following an investigation by into his credit card use, including use of a card in the name of his 74-year-old stepfather.

Ronald Joseph Cisi was booked at Marin County Jail on Sunday and faces three felony charges: burglary, theft/embezzlement of an elder over the age of 64, using someone’s credit card without consent.

Cisi, who listed his occupation as a plumber when he was booked, is accused of using his stepfather’s credit card at several Novato locations, according to Novato police Sgt. Eric Riddell. One purchase was for $797.

Cisi occasionally stays at the west Novato home of his stepfather, Riddell said.

Novato police received a fraud-related call at 12:02 p.m. Sunday and arrested Cisi without incident at 8:21 p.m. Cisi also faces on misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs based on a warrant.
