Honda Spins Out on 101 Onramp, Hits 2 Other Cars

CHP says driver was traveling at a speed unsafe for the wet conditions.

A three-vehicle crash Tuesday in Novato caused minor injuries and slowed late-morning traffic along southbound Highway 101, the California Highway Patrol said.

paramedics medically cleared all the occupants involved in the wreck, which was called in at 10:05 a.m. at the southbound 101 onramp at Ignacio Boulevard.

The CHP said Victoria Velasquez, 20, of Stockton lost control of her 2006 Honda Civic while traveling at a speed deemed unsafe for the wet conditions. The Honda spun counter-clockwise and across all southbound lanes of 101, striking a Ford pickup driven by David Boyer, 50, of Napa. The Honda rotated and then hit the same truck again, then hit a Toyota Prius driven by Morgan Ferrante, 20, of Santa Rosa.

Boyer managed to drive his truck to the right shoulder of the highway, but the Prius came to a rest in the fast lane and the Honda stopped in the center divider facing oncoming traffic.

The fast lane was closed for about 10 minutes while the Honda was removed to the road shoulder.
