Hiker Falls Off 20-foot Cliff at Limantour Beach

The rocky cliff location required a helicopter rescue.

A 31-year-old hiker fell off a 20-foot cliff and injured himself Sunday afternoon in Point Reyes National Seashore, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers were requested for a rescue at Limantour Beach after witnesses spotted the victim, who had fallen off a rocky cliff in that area at about 12:20 p.m., according to the CHP.

Park rangers found the victim about two miles south of Limantour Drive, and an arriving helicopter was able to land close enough for crews to get to the man on a pathway, officers said.
