Hamilton Wildland Fire Held to One-Third Acre

No homes threatened, fire official says.

Four fire engines raced out to a wildland fire in a Hamilton neighborhood and snuffed out the flames Saturday evening before any homes were threatened, a fire official said.

A vegetation fire was reported at 6:59 p.m. at 143 Crescent Drive, near the railroad tracks that run off Bolling Drive and Crescent, Captain Robert LaCroix said. Fire and officials are investigating the fire’s cause, he said.

Chain-link fencing caused a bit of a hassle for firefighters, but the fire was held to one-third of an acre and was deemed contained at 7:15 p.m.

The fire was working itself away from homes in the area, LaCroix said.

Two Type 3 four-wheel-drive engines were among the four engines on hand, but they didn't need to leave the paved street, he said. One of them was from the Marinwood Fire Department.
