Four Cited for Weapons Violations on Diablo Avenue

Selected calls from the log books of Novato PD, Feb. 10–13

Feb. 10

1:39 a.m. – An overturned vehicle was reported on Simmons Lane.  A subject was arrested and booked for driving under the influence. 

3:00 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the vicinity of Third Street and Grant Avenue.  A bus stop was tagged.

3:28 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported at the Novato Medical Center at 1324 Grant Ave.  

3:31 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1300 block of Grant Avenue.  The side of a building was tagged.

3:32 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1200 block of Grant Avenue.  

6:47 a.m. – A vehicle was reported stolen in the 200 block of Rockport Way.  

7:25 a.m. – A warrant arrest was made on Jade Court.  A subject was taken into custody for a warrant out of Contra Costa County and transported to Marin County Jail. 

8:24 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1000 block of Third Street.  A garage was tagged. 

8:44 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported on Romar Court. Gang related taggings were found in multiple locations around an apartment complex. 

10:38 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1200 block of Vallejo Avenue.  An apartment complex was tagged in multiple locations. 

10:45 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1200 block of Kaehler Street.  Gang related graffiti was found on a fence and a light pole. 

10:55 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1300 block of Kaehler Street. 

11:01 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1200 block of Second Street.  Gang related graffiti was found on the front of an apartment building and in a stairwell.

12:37 p.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the vicinity of Gateway Court and Novato Boulevard. 

4:35 p.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1100 block of Fourth Street.  Gang related taggings were found on a fence. 

7:12 p.m. – A burglary was reported in the 900 block of George Street.  Unknown subject broke into a home and stole a wallet with $700 cash and two credit cards.  The subject later used one of the cards at Lucky’s on Grant Avenue.  The investigation is ongoing. 

9:07 p.m. – A suspect was arrested and booked for driving under the influence in the vicinity of Larch Drive and Redwood Boulevard.  

Feb. 11 

12:48 p.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1200 block of Olive Avenue.  A fence was vandalized. 

3:13 p.m. – A warrant arrest was made in the 7600 block of Redwood Boulevard. 

8:10 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances were reported in the 800 block of Tamalpais Avenue.  Four subjects climbed the fence to a business and crossed through the reporting party’s backyard. Subjects were taking pictures. Four juveniles were located playing in a creek by their house.  A parent responded and took custody of the kids. 

9:39 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances were reported on Rowland Way when a white male adult with tattoos on both arms about 35 to 40 years of age was screaming at a woman in a parking lot.  He said she had hit him with her Lexus.  The reporting party said she wasn’t even near him when she was driving and suspects that he was trying to get money from her.  The area was checked, but subject was gone on arrival. 

Feb. 12 

12:28 a.m. – Three boys and a man were booked for weapons violations in the 900 block of Diablo Avenue after one of the individuals had been detained for shoplifting alcohol.  

7:07 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported on Oliva Court.  Gang related graffiti was found spraypainted on a fence. 

2:02 p.m. – A major injury accident was reported in the 5400 block of Hanna Ranch Road. An 11-year-old boy required an airlift to a hospital after two dirt bikes collided.

4:03 p.m. – A neighbor was reported to be violating a restraining order by playing loud music and yelling at the reporting party’s daughter from his balcony in the 1500 block of Center Road.  The subject was arrested for violating a criminal restraining order and was transported and booked into Marin County Jail. 

9:10 p.m. – Juveniles were reported to be throwing eggs at the window of a home in the 900 block of Bolling Circle.  One juvenile was cited and released for possession of alcohol. 

Feb. 13 

12:39 a.m. – A subject was arrested an booked into Marin County Jail for driving under the influence in the vicinity of De Long Avenue and Highway 101. 

8:43 a.m. – A case of arson was reported in the 1000 block of Simmons Lane.  A juvenile was seen running from the creek where a fire was seen.  Unknown kids attempted to set fire in the creek area behind residences. 

1:36 p.m. – One Hispanic female adult and two white men were reported to be smoking marijuana in the 1800 block of Virginia Avenue.  Two minors were cited for possession of alcohol. No marijuana seen upon arrival. 

6:27 p.m. – Employees of Red Boy Pizza on Diablo Avenue reported that someone had taken all the money from the tip jar.  The only subject in the business at the time was a woman wearing a brown jacket.  The woman was contacted outside the business and consented to a search of her pockets where $15 in one-dollar bills were found.  She said it was OK to give it to Redboy and the employees did not want to press charges. 

10:50 p.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1700 block of Grant Avenue.  Gang related taggings were found in red spray paint.
