Donation Box Thief Making the Rounds

The following information from Aug. 18-19 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Headliner:

3:59 p.m., Aug. 18 — A donation box was stolen from a business in the 400 block of Ignacio Boulevard, and video evidence was obtained. The suspect is thought to be a suspect in other donation box thefts.

12:16 a.m. — A woman on Pinheiro Circle requested to speak to an officer about someone vandalizing her home and rearranging things inside.

12:37 a.m. — A man and a woman were arguing outdoors in the 700 block of Redwood Boulevard. They were advised to move along.

1:21 a.m. — An arrest was made on Novato Boulevard pertaining to a stolen vehicle report.

7:06 a.m. — A deer was reported stuck between some bars in the 100 block of Posada del Sol. The deer was dislodged.

9:49 a.m. — Individuals at a homeless encampment behind businesses on Vintage Way were told to move along.

3:20 p.m. — About five people were involved in a fight on Seventh Street. The subjects ran toward the library. No weapons were seen.

3:41 p.m. — There was no sign of a reported motorcyclist racing up and down Feliz Road at approximately 80 mph.

6:08 p.m. — A woman on Carmel Drive says her wealthy sister is trying to kill her via chemical warfare. She told officers she is has manic depression that makes her act "funny." Advice was provided.

6:33 p.m. — A resident in the 1700 block of Novato Boulevard asked for advice on how to deal with teens who have been hanging out in the creek area behind her property and moving her patio furniture. A vandalism case was taken.

7:36 p.m. — One person suffered a broken leg in a vehicle vs. pedestrian incident at the intersection of Olive Avenue and Chase Street. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

10:01 p.m. — Two men were cited and released for shoplifting alcohol and other items at a business at 900 Diablo Ave.

10:22 p.m. — A fight between seven people was reported on Alameda del Prado. Subjects were gone on arrival.

Aug. 19

12:01 p.m. — Someone reported several people smoking crack in a vehicle on Red Hawk Road. A crack pipe was seen on the seat of a Ford pickup truck.

1:10 p.m. — Someone carved swirls into the driver's side door of a silver Toyota Camry parked in a carport in the 1100 block of Third Street. The window was open but nothing was taken.

2:03 p.m. — A man going through a divorce texted a friend that he was going to kill himself. A friend in San Diego said he received a text that appeared to be a "goodbye."

4:35 p.m. — A business on Vintage Way reported that a white woman stole a pair of boots, and the evidence is on a surveillance camera.

5:23 p.m. — An argument was reported on Second Street. Family members were yelling at each other over an Xbox being taken away from a son.

6:56 p.m. — Someone on Yukon Way reported seeing a car with men in camouflage outfits and one of them in possession of a gun. Three high school students were contacted and found to be in possession of air guns as they were transferring them from one vehicle to another. Advice was given to conduct activity in more acceptable places.

7:10 p.m. — Two people were arrested on various penal code violations after they were walking near Novato Boulevard and Tamalpais Avenue.

8:19 p.m. — A female caller in the 1500 block of Hill Road said she was threatened with a knife in an argument over a video game system.  The suspect was not located.

10:07 p.m. — A woman on Pinheiro Circle said she believes her home has been vandalized and someone is trying to terrorize her. She reported a red rose petal on her front door and believes it might be gang related. There was no merit to criminal activity, and advice was given about video surveillance cameras and alarm systems.

11:26 p.m. — A woman said she was pushed, punched and threatened by a man at a residence on Hamilton Parkway. The suspect was being evicted from the facility.
