Dollar Tree in Ignacio Robbed; Police Hunt for Suspect

Unarmed man smashed employee's cell phone and demanded cash.

are searching for a man in his 20s who robbed the store in Ignacio on Sunday night.

At about 11 p.m., the suspect approached an employee in charge of closing up the store on Enfrente Road and demanded the worker’s cell phone, which he obtained and broke, according to Sgt. Jennifer Dunlap. The suspect demanded money, and the employee handed some to him. The man then fled.

No weapons were used and nobody was injured, Dunlap said.

Police searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect, listed as a Hispanic man 20-25 years old, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a red bandana over part of his face.
