Cyclist Seen Spitting at Passing Cars Arrested

Novato man had warrants out for his arrest from Sonoma County as well.

A man seen spitting at passing cars while riding a bike was detained by Thursday and found to have multiple warrants out for his arrest.

Timothy Lester Fischer, 44, of Novato was pulled over in the 1400 block of South Novato Boulevard near Rowland Boulevard just after 7 p.m., according to acting Lt. Jennifer Welch. Officers found that Fischer had three warrants out of Sonoma County, including a felony for obstructing an executive officer.

While conducting a search, officers found that Fischer was in possession of what Welch described as a bludgeoning or stabbing device, similar to a dagger. The weapon was concealed on his bike, she said.

Fischer faces an additional felony charge of dagger possession and a misdemeanor of being drunk and disorderly. He was booked at Marin County Jail at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
