Credit Card Check Leads to Burglary, Fraud, Drug Charges

Woman jailed and suspected of three felonies after incident at Vintage Oaks' Starbucks shop.

A coffeeshop employee called Tuesday when a 29-year-old woman attempted to use a credit card that wasn't in her name, leading to the woman's arrest on three possible felony charges, police said.

Naomi Star Anderson, who lives in the unincorporated Green Point section of eastern Novato, was arrested at the at 7:03 p.m. Tuesday shortly after officers found her to be in possession of several debit cards and gift cards that were in another person's name, Novato police Sgt. Eric Riddell said.

"She said she got them from a friend, but she was very vague," Riddell said.

Officers also came across a substance later identified as the illegal hallucinogen gamma hydroxybutyrate, otherwise known as GHB or the "date rape drug."

Anderson, who gave her occupation as a personnel assistant, faces felony charges of burglary, credit card fraud and possession of a controlled substance. Her bail was set at $25,000.
