Copper Wire Stolen from Former Birkenstock Site

Selected calls from the Novato PD call logs, Jan. 31-Feb. 1

Jan. 31

1:39 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1700 block of Grant Avenue.  Multiple tags, some gang related, were spray painted on walls, garbage cans and fence line. 

7:14 a.m. – A 37 year old female in the 2500 block of Center Road was suspected of overdose.  Placed on psychiatric hold at Kaiser Terra Linda.

7:51 a.m. – Assistance was provided to two people who were hit by a car near the Novato Square shopping center. 

9:34 a.m. – The grand theft of copper wire was reported taken from the lighting at the former Birkenstock site on Redwood Boulevard.  It is believed to have occurred over the weekend.

2:11 p.m. – A house was reportedly tagged with graffiti on Indian Valley Road.  

6:10 p.m. – Four male juveniles were reported to be pounding on the front windows of a business in the 1700 block of Grant Avenue.  Reporting party believes they were trying to break the windows.  Subjects were wearing hoodies, baggy pants and striped shirts.  Juveniles continue to use breezeway in back of the building without permission.  Juveniles have been asked not to and continue to do so. 

7:03 p.m. – A warrant arrest was made in the 7400 block of Redwood Boulevard.  Subject was booked into Marin County Jail for an outstanding warrant. 

9:42 p.m. – A report of a person brandishing a weapon was reported on Trish Drive.  A man flying out of town reported that an unknown subject rang their doorbell and then ran away.  Reporting party requested that his wife be contacted.  Subject was gone on arrival, unable to locate. 

10:15 p.m. – A reporting party in the 800 block of Diablo Avenue reports that his girlfriend wants him to hurt an unknown police lieutenant from an unknown agency.  He says the girlfriend has been talking in profanities about the officer and is trying to convince him that he should fight the officer.  Advice was given to the citizen. 

Feb. 1 

10:38 a.m. – A petty theft was reported in the vicinity of Atherton Avenue and Binford Road.  Unknown suspect(s) entered a vehicle and took cash, cell phone and credit cards.  Suspects have used phone and victim has a list of numbers called. 

11:18 a.m. – A person on Salvatore Drive was taken to Marin General Hospital psychiatric unit after it was discovered that the person's home was filled with garbage and cats.  Possible alcohol, drug and hording issues were evident.  Residence was yellow tagged by code enforcement. 

1:20 p.m. – A reporting party stated he has video footage of a resident kicking in a laundry door.  Reporting party is requesting to file charges.  A complaint will be forwarded to the Marin County district attorney.  Estimated damages are $875.  Officer was unable to contact suspect at this time. 

3:43 p.m. – Vehicle vs small dog.  Black Chevy Suburban last seen west bound on Novato Boulevard. 

4:50 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances were reported about a noose hanging from a tree in an apartment complex in the vicinity of Kelly Court and Randolph Drive.  Officer found two ropes loosely tied to small tree hanging to the ground.  Two young juveniles were contacted who had been using the ropes for playing "Ninja Warriors."

6:01 p.m. – A small fire was reported in a field in the vicinity of Hamilton Parkway and Todd Road.  Suspect was arrested and booked for miscellaneous penal code violations. 

10:30 p.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 800 block of De Long Avenue.  Spray painted tagging was found on a window facing De Long Avenue.
