Contest to Name the New Police Dog

A ride-along with Novato PD and a restaurant gift certificate go to the winner of the contest. Entries must be received by August 19.

The t is holding a contest to name one of the newest members to its Canine Unit.

The 20-month-old male Belgian Malinois was purchased with the donations received from the “Pennies for Police Dogs” campaign.

The unnamed dog is assigned to Officer Kendrick Pilegaard and will be part of Novato's Canine Unit with Officer Jeff Ames and another new dog named, Metz and the team of Officer Mike Braun and his dog, Ingo.

The winning name will be announced at the Novato City Council meeting on August 23, 2011. All name entries are to be received no later than August 19, 2011.

The winner will receive a police ride-along, photo with Officer Kendrick Pilegaard and his canine and a gift certificate at a local restaurant.

Entry forms should be sent to Captain Jim Berg and may be mailed or dropped off at the Novato Police Department, 909 Machin Avenue, Novato, CA 94945.
