Burglary Suspects Face Additional Charges

Men were picked up Dec. 15 after Reichert Court incident in broad daylight.

The Marin County District Attorney’s office is seeking additional felony charges against two Novato men who are suspects in a residential burglary last week.

Deangelo Natividad and Christopher Butler, both 21, were arrested and booked into Marin County Jail on Dec. 15 and face felony burglary charges, according to the jail booking log. On Dec. 19, the DA’s office elected to pursue a felony credit card/ID theft charge against Butler and a felony domestic violence charge against Natividad.

In addition to the original counts last week, Natividad faces a possible felony charge of committing a crime while out on bail for another crime; Novato police did not release details on a previous infraction. Butler also could be dinged for a misdemeanor probation violation.

The men were picked up Dec. 15 following a residential burglary one day after it took place, said. Officers responded to a home on Reichert Court, just south of the Old Town area, on the report of a person walking into a burglary in progress, according to a release from Lt. Keith Heiden. Two suspects fled with stolen goods as the resident watched, but officers who searched the area came up empty-handed, he said. On the bright side, the investigation yielded identifications of two suspects from witnesses.

On Dec. 15, several officers located the two men in the 300 block of Capetown Court in the Crossroads neighborhood off South Novato Boulevard, about 2 ½ miles south of where the burglary was committed.
