Bank Robbery Suspect's Description Doesn't Match June 1 Thief

Man swiped undisclosed amount of cash from downtown Novato Safeway on June 12.

Novato police have released a description of a man suspected of robbing the Wells Fargo Bank branch inside the Safeway store at the Novato Fair shopping center on Tuesday.

A white man approximately 35 years old approached a teller and turned over a note demanding money at about 6:32 p.m., Lt. Keith Heiden said. The man was given an undisclosed amount of cash and left the bank, and police came up empty on a search of the area.

The man, who did not display a weapon, was about 6-foot-1, 180 pounds and bald. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue pants.

The description does not match that of ; that person was also about 35 years old but estimated at 5-6 or 5-7 in height.

Wells Fargo is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the June 1 robbery suspect, but no such award has been offered for the June 12 incident.

No surveillance photo of the June 12 suspect is being released at this time, Heiden said.

Anyone with information that might help investigators are invited to call 897-1122 or the department's Hot Tip Line at 800-848-0101.

Honestly, it wasn't me. I was just buying donuts, and disturbing a public meeting by telling the truth.

hmmmm. Let me see if i get this straight. Two white guys rob banks=joke involving donuts. Any crime by brown guy=tirade against immigration, affordable housing, city adminstration, etc. not racist though...
