As Seen on TV: Burglary Suspects Nabbed with Help of Surveillance Video

The next time you consider stealing a television from a hotel, make sure you are not registered as a guest at the same hotel.

Three people learned that Wednesday in Novato when they were arrested and now facing burglary charges, police said.

A housekeeping employee at opened a room not registered to any guests and noticed a TV missing, Lt. Keith Heiden said. A review of hallway surveillance video showed three people breaking into the room and leaving with the TV set.

The hotel manager recognized the suspects as people who were registered in another room. Novato police were contacted and tracked the threesome to a location on North Redwood Boulevard in Novato where they were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

All three suspects — Morgan Rose Baugh, 21 of San Rafael; Daniel James Rosa, 31, of Novato; and Benjamin Adam Palter, 45, of Novato — also face misdemeanor probation violations.
