After Short Chase, Man Arrested on Narcotics, Parole Violation Charges

Arrest took place at Redwood & Olive on Friday afternoon.

A 44-year-old man was arrested Friday afternoon by a Novato police officer after a short chase on foot, police said.

Kevin Duane Caradine of Novato, was contacted at a bus stop near North Redwood Boulevard and Olive Avenue in the downtown area and then bolted away from the police officer at about 12:40 p.m., according to Sgt. Nick Frey. The officer yelled out to the man, who then stopped in front of Randall Bros. Automotive just across Redwood from the bus stop.

Caradine was found to be in possession of narcotics, Frey said. He was handcuffed and arrested, then booked at Marin County Jail at 3:30 p.m. Caradine, who listed his occupation as a care provider, faces a felony parole violation charge and misdemeanors of resisting arrest and drug possession.
