Novato police arrested two people Sunday as part of the department's minor alcohol access prevention program, police said.

Between 5-10 p.m., officers and underage decoys conducted compliance checks at five businesses and a shoulder-tap operation outside two stores, police said.

The compliance checks led to one sale, when a decoy entered the Circle K store at 375 Ignacio Blvd. and was sold alcohol by the clerk, according to police. The clerk, Hardeep Singh, 30, of Novato, was cited for the sale and released.

Another Novato resident, Beverly Rucker, 45, was approached by a decoy in front of a store in the 7300 block of Redwood Boulevard and was cited for buying alcohol for a minor, according to police.
