2 Arrested on Suspicion of Car Theft, Drug Possession

Officers conveniently pull over suspects right near police station early Saturday morning.

A Novato woman and Richmond man were jailed Saturday on suspicion of car theft and drug possession, Novato police said.

A vehicle was stopped by Novato officers at 12:30 a.m. on Machin Avenue, near the police station, for having an altered license plate, Lt. Keith Heiden said. The vehicle was found to be stolen from San Mateo County on Sept. 22, and the woman had an outstanding warrant for her arrest out of San Francisco County.

Both occupants of the car were found to be on parole and in possession of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia, Heiden said.

Nicole Rader, 25, of Novato was placed on a parole hold at Marin County Jail, and Hooman Beytollah, 23, of Richmond also was booked. Rader faces felony charges of car theft, drug possession (two counts), drug paraphernalia possession, driving with a suspended license and a parole violation. Beytollah, who gave his residence as Corte Madera when he was booked, faces felony counts of drug possession and car theft.
