Take a 2.2 mile walk; graffiti, trash and cigarette butt free

Glenbrook Park (between Maria/Sonoma Mnt Pkwy
Glenbrook Park (between Maria/Sonoma Mnt Pkwy

THE EARTH CAN ABSORB YOUR ASS BUT NOT YOUR CIGARETTE BUTT; PLEASE DISPOSE OF THEM RESPONSIBLY

It took a few days; mission accomplished! As of 11:00AM 1/27 the walk you see in the attached map is free of cigarette butts, trash and graffiti. Enjoy your walk Petalumians.. YOU can do this in your neighborhood too. Give me a "like" if you agree.

I begin at Maria and the entrance to Glenbrook park (the left side), walk towards Sonoma Mountain Parkway, cross it when you get there, go left to Leghorn Park then right up the concrete path that skirts the tennis courts, follow that path past some two story homes and just at the bend make a right, you will see a dirt path to your left; take it, you will cross a foot bridge and will be walking next to a cow pasture and behind the college and a grammar school, at the end of the path, make a right and you will be back on a concrete path, take it and walk through the college parking lot towards Sonoma Mountain parkway, cross the street to Glenbrook Park, this time take the first path to your left and walk towards the Redwoods and back to Maria.

No plastic grocery bags or water bottles?
Bruce Cohn January 19, 2014 at 09:24 AM
that is correct. I take this walk at least every other day with a plastic bag and a "picker"

Plastic bags and water bottles are the least of the trash along the Lynch Creek Trail. There's much more litter from the homeless and the "punks" who hangout, mainly near the bridges (Lakeville, Payran, Freeway and North McDowell). Beer cans and glass booze bottles, "soiled" clothes, hamburger wrappers, rug/sleeping bag remnants, paper coffee cups. Oh, and then there's the dog feces...on and off the trail...sometimes enclosed in a bag and left along the side of the trail...like the fecal genie is going to magically pick them up. Try walking a half mile further toward downtown.

An anonymous street person collected this garbage. The creek looks so nice and the wildlife can use the water now that it isn't clogged with garbage. I thanked him profusely. For a week he worked on two stretches of the creek. My photo doesn't copy to this comment area.

John; I was just at the Friends of the River and talked with Stephanie, she is getting me all the trash bags I/WE need, I will be cleaning up the Lynch creek trail this Friday from 3 on, starting at the new foot bridge and going to Mcdowell. I will do it myself but would LOVE some help...@Notth Bay, did the "street" guy have is dog with him or was it the really old guy with the long beard, there are two of them that clean a lot. I hope to see some of you on Friday.

By the way John, my 2.2 mile route is no where near Lynch Creek trail, it is along Capri Creek.
