Stop signs

I'm making a gripe about stop signs. Yeah, I know it's a lame topic but what drove me to blog about it is the new stop sign on Palmer.  Now you need to make a stop, then drive 10 yards and stop again before continuing on your way. There are others that have poped up around town, like San Marin @ the high school. The completely redundant sign on Palmer happens to be adjacent to Pat Eklunds registered home. Now making the assumption that she was involved in the process of the new sign's implementation, Pat Eklund is in favor for smog. Why? Eklund's resume says she worked for the EPA and is concern for our environment's well being. Well, redundant stop signs create more smog and waste gas and are just annoying.  Your nice new shiny car does not have any emission standards at WOT (wide open throttle). So stop and go traffic creates more NOx (unburned fuel and other gasses) in the air.  Somebody who worked in the EPA should have known that. Mrs. Eklund, please remove your ridiculous stop sign and all the others that cause you to stop half a block at a time.
